Here are my favourite places in no particular order:

Bignor Roman Villa, West Sussex. A place with wonderful Roman mosaic floors.  I loved the one depicting Methusulah – it is so complete and quite amazing to see after all this time!2017-01-29-1

wp_20170125_005Sandbanks Hotel Beach Bar.  This photo was taken in January 2017 while I was drinking lime and soda! In spite of the sunshine, the beach was deserted.  Don’t you just love the proximity of the bar to the beach and sea??

Table 13 at the Fern Pit Café, Newquay overlooking Crantock Beach.  They serve the best crab sandwiches!  And the view is awesome!fern-pout-cafe-2

Hideaway Café, Seaton sea front.  Hopefully the pictures show why I love this coffee stop! hideawayseaton-sea-front The last time we were there, the temperatures were around 30 degrees and too hot for me to sit out:(

The Discovery Centre, Thatcham lake at sunset.  It is so quiet and serene at this time, I just love it.wp_20170120_017

Winkworth Arboretum Boathouseboathouse2I  worked as a volunteer for a short time and had to open the boathouse before the public arrived.  It was very special place to sit and ponder!  I recall seeing kingfishers light up in the sun as it caught their iridescent colour as they flew across the water.

The seat at the bottom of The Fishermans, EmsworthA great secret seat overlooking all of Chichester  harbour and most scenic when the tide is out (left).

Waterhead, Ambleside.  We last stayed in the area at Christmas 2016 and drove past Waterhead many times and saw the lake in different weathers and different light.  The best is when the water is still and there are boats moored, like here (right).

Further afield:

Lake Como: It is just so beautiful …….

Brunate (above Como Town) was recommended by Luca, our EasyJet cabin steward and it didn’t disappoint.

Sorrento: on the balcony of the second floor of the St Francois Cloister.

Love the nuns admiring their photo!
