Aqua Aerobics is a high energy and fun fitness class in which you perform a range of aerobic moves in the pool shown to you by an instructor. No matter what your age, ability or experience an aqua aerobics class is an inclusive activity suitable for everyone.
Aqua aerobics, the performance of aerobic exercise, is carried out in fairly shallow water such as in a swimming pool. Done mostly vertically and without swimming typically in waist deep or deeper water, it is a type of resistance training.
Just because exercising in water is softer on joints does not mean it is a softer workout. Working out in water means your muscles are forced to work harder, burning more fat and toning them up faster than land-based exercises. Aqua jogging can burn over 11 calories a minute, giving you a better workout.
